David Feldman

David Feldman (* 1947 in Dublin ) is a professional philatelist , auctioneer and author from Ireland .

At the age of eight he organized a barter among schoolchildren. In 1958 he turned it into a mail order stamp club and held his first auction in 1967. In 1968 he graduated with honors in both business administration and philosophy . In the same year he wrote a bestseller on Irish philately called the Handbook of Irish Philately. When he met a Swiss woman in 1973, he moved to Switzerland. At his auctions he was able to achieve record prices repeatedly, including for the so-called " Bordeaux letter ". In 1993, he auctioned off the with a unique auction Mauritius stamps of Kanai Hiroyuki . Feldman also sponsored philatelic literature such as LN Williams' two-volume work entitled "Encyclopedia of Rare and Famous Stamps."
