David Frétigné

David Frétigné (born July 30, 1970 ) is a French enduro racer .

In 1993 he celebrated his first successes in enduro sports. He finished second in the team classification at the Enduro World Championship . In 1996 he was runner-up in the French Enduro Championship. In 1998 he finished second at the World Cup. A year later he was again French Vice Enduro Champion and won the team championship at the world championship. In 2000 and 2001 he was again victorious with his team. In the further course of his career he won the French Enduro Championship and the French Motocross Championship from 2000 to 2004 . He also won the International Six Day Race in 2001 .

Frétigné has also been involved in marathon rallies since 2002 . In 2002, 2003, 2004 and most recently in 2008 he won the AMV Shamrock Rally in Morocco. In 2003 he won the Rally Orpi Morocco in the category up to 500 cm³.

Frétigné took part in the Dakar Rally for the first time in 2004 with his self-established team . His motorcycle is a 450 Yamaha , which is inferior to the big 690 KTM in terms of performance, and so he only has an outsider's chance . Nevertheless, he finished seventh in 2004 and fifth in 2005. In 2007 he had to give up during the rally. The biggest surprise came at the 2009 Dakar Rally , where he kept up with even the fastest with his inferior machine and in the end achieved a podium finish with third place.
