David Francis (politician)
David J. Francis (born October 5, 1965 ) is a Sierra Leonean politician of the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP). He has been Chief Minister since May 7, 2018 , taking on a position similar to that of Prime Minister . From April 18-23, Francis was also appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation .
Before his appointment as Chief Minister, Francis worked in numerous national and international organizations in the fields of law and peace studies. He is a professor and has developed various courses on the subject of peace and security in at least ten African countries . Francis holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southampton ( United Kingdom ) and degrees in law and social sciences from universities in the Netherlands , Sweden and Fourah Bay College .
