David II (Georgia)
David II. (* Before 897; † 937 ) was King of Georgia from 923 to 937 .
Life
David was the eldest of the four sons of Adarnase IV.
All four brothers ruled collectively and had received different degrees from the Byzantine emperor:
- Aschot II. That of a kouropalates , for a foreigner the highest possible (923-954),
- Bagrat I. that of a Magistros (923-945), 937 King and
- the youngest Sumbat I was initially Anthy patrikios in 923 , King in 945 and Kuropalat from 954.
In 897 David is mentioned for the first time as Duke of Kweli- Javakheti . He is actually the first king of that name and David the Builder is the second king. He died with no offspring.
