David L. Phillips

David L. Phillips (born July 2, 1959 ) is an American political scientist .

Career

Phillips was a consultant with the United Nations Secretariat and the US Department of State . He was visiting scholar at the Center for Middle East Studies at Harvard University and Associate Professor at the Department of Politics at New York University and visiting professor at the Diplomatic Academy Vienna .

Phillips directs the Program Peace-building and Rights at the Institute for the Study of Human Rights of the Columbia University .
