David Pefko

David (Manos) Pefko (born December 25, 1983 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch writer of novels and short stories. He made his debut in 2009 with the novel Levi Andreas . His second novel Het voorseizoen from 2011 won the Golden Book Owl (Gouden Boekenuil) the following year and the Inktaap in 2013 . Pefko has a Greek father and lives alternately in Amsterdam and Athens . He wrote the novel Het voorseizoen , which was inspired by listening to conversations in a bar, within four months on the island of Kos .

Pefko publishes his stories in the magazines and newspapers Tirade , Hollands Maandblad (Dutch monthly paper), Vrij Nederland (Free Netherlands) and the magazine as well as on its website. Pefko writes columns for De Morgen and the NCR Handelsblatt .
