David R. Caruso

David R. Caruso (born March 20, 1956 ) is an American management psychologist .

life and work

Caruso holds a PhD in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University and currently works at Yale University after having worked in industry . Since 1995 he has been researching together with John D. Mayer and Peter Salovey in the field of emotional intelligence. His outstanding scientific achievements include working on the development of the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT), a scientific instrument that can be used to measure emotional intelligence in a similar way to linguistic-mathematical intelligence .
