David Spies (born September 5, 1994 in Herdecke ) is a German soccer player .
The attacking midfielder has played for Charlotte Independence in the United Soccer League since the 2017 season .
In addition to German citizenship, he also has a US passport.
Career
Spies comes from the youth of VfL Bochum . With the U-17 and U-19 of the club he played in the A-Juniors Bundesliga West. He later moved to the U-19s of 1. FC Nürnberg and played 13 games in the A-Juniors Bundesliga South / Southwest.
For the 2013/14 season he moved to the second team in Nuremberg and played for the next two years in the Bavarian regional league. He then went to FC Augsburg, where he played another season in the Regionalliga Bayern for Bayern's second representative.
