particularities |
The Binninger Baggersee is located in a protected area designated on December 21, 1992 in the area of the city of Engen and the municipality of Hilzingen in the Baden-Württemberg district of Konstanz in Germany . The area has an area of around 15 hectares. The deepest part of the lake is around 16 m deep and around 1200 m in circumference. It is located in Zone III of the legally binding water protection area for the Tiefbrunnen Im Sand ( Binninger Ried ), which is only a few hundred meters away from the lake. This is a drinking water supply reservoir for the municipalities of the city of Tengen , where an average of around 300,000 cubic meters of drinking water are made available to the member municipalities every year. For reasons of ground and drinking water protection, a bathing ban was issued in 1988 by the Constance District Office, which is still in force today. From the quarry pond you have a view of the Hohenstoffeln opposite .
