David Walsh (journalist)

David Joseph Walsh (born June 17, 1955 ) is an Irish sports reporter, managing editor of the London Sunday Times and non-fiction author. In 2001, he revealed that Lance Armstrong was being treated by Michele Ferrari , an Italian doctor convicted of sports offenses . In 2004 Walsh published together with the French reporter Pierre Ballester the book LA confidential - The secrets of Lance Armstrong about doping allegations against Armstrong. It contains allegations from Armstrong's former masseuse Emma O'Reilly .

Walsh was four times Sports Writer of the Year in Ireland; In 2013, Seven Deadly Sins was named “Sports Book of the Year” with an Irish Book Award .
