On May 11, 1887, the predecessor company, " R. Stock, Telegraphenapparate " was founded. The company's headquarters have remained unchanged since 1894 on Zeughofstrasse in Berlin. At the Berlin trade exhibition in 1896 , the company presented the world's first "telephone connection office", which subsequently spread throughout Germany as a state telecommunications office . In 1899 the company "Deutsche Telephonwerke R. Stock & Co. GmbH" was founded and entered in the commercial register. In 1905 the suffix “R. Stock & Co. ”.

20th century

By the First World War , DeTeWe had set up over 130 telecommunications and telephone exchanges across Europe.

In 1922 the "DeTeWe Deutsche Telephonwerke und Kabelindustrie AG" was founded.

In 1957, the switching centers in the telecommunications offices were converted to EMD technology .

In 1992 DeTeWe acquired the VEB Funkwerk Köpenick . A copy of the distinctive logo that hung on the outer facade in Zeughofstrasse is now in the Letters Museum in Berlin. The 2.40 m high lettering consists of a black metal body and a blue acrylic front.

From 2005

On January 1st, 2005 the DeTeWe company was restructured. This resulted in two legally independent companies: On the one hand, DeTeWe Communications GmbH, which realizes direct sales for business customers in Germany, and on the other hand, DeTeWe Systems GmbH (since 2006 Aastra DeTeWe GmbH) with the areas of development, production, indirect sales and service within Germany and Europe.

On July 14, 2005, the Canadian Aastra Technologies Limited bought the entire operational business of DeTeWe, with the two subsidiaries DeTeWe Communications GmbH and DeTeWe Systems GmbH.

On May 22, 2018, Ostertag Holding GmbH took over DeTeWe Communications GmbH.

DeTeWe Communications has 16 sales and service locations within Germany. Local resources on every continent can be accessed for the implementation of international projects.

DeTeWe Communications GmbH claims to be one of the leading ICT system integrators in Germany. The offer also includes the management of communication networks. DeTeWe.net offers individual network access for voice and data communication.
