De schnällscht Zürihegel

De schnällscht Zürihegel is a youth sports event that has been taking place in Zurich since 1951 and whose "father" was Silvio Nido . With up to 4,000 children running individually each year and more than 460 relay teams, it is the largest school sports event in the canton of Zurich and one of the largest youth sports events in Switzerland . The event is organized by the Zürihegel association under the patronage of the Sports Office of the City of Zurich and the Zurich City Association for Sports. The main sponsor is the Migros Culture Percentage .

The individual run consists of an 80-meter sprint . The total distance of the relay race is 720 meters, with the relay teams consisting of six boys and girls of the same age who each cover 60 meters twice. City of Zurich children aged 1–6 are entitled to start. Primary school. The event, which takes place over several weekends in spring, includes district eliminations, intermediate runs and the final that takes place in Utogrund .
