Dean Markley USA is an American company that specializes in manufacturing musical instrument accessories for guitar and bass . The privately owned company was founded by Dean Markley in 1972 and focuses on the manufacture and marketing of guitar strings , pickups , amplifiers and tuners .
history
Before Dean Markley founded his own company, the American was the owner of a music business . Since 1972 Markley has been experimenting with developing new types of longer lasting and great sounding guitar strings. In 1975, with the release of the single show Me the Way by the American guitarist and singer Peter Frampton , Markley also had his breakthrough, as Frampton used the talk box that Markley designed on the side. The British rock musician Eric Clapton also helped the company to become better known, as the Briton not only used Markley's Talkbox during live performances until the mid-1970s, but also the guitar amplifier of the type "Signature Series 120" in the mid-1980s ( Dean Markley and Bradshaw Switching System ).
Other successful musicians such as guitarists Kurt Cobain or Dave Amato also used the manufacturer's products.
