Dear Wolf is a rock band from Krefeld that was founded in 1988. The band had previously performed regionally under the name No Sports .

Act

The band plays rock music with English lyrics and elements from alternative pop and rock. Dear Wolf celebrated success in the early 1990s with their albums and video broadcasts of the songs Lost and Summertrain on MTV and VIVA .

Due to musical differences in 1997, the temporary end of the band was inevitable. At the beginning of 2005 the two heads and founding members of Dear Wolf, Alexander Classen and Martin Smeets, re-initiated the band. The band completed itself with drummer Oliver Griethe and bassist Guido Geerlings, who joined a little later. After a creative break and another personnel change on the bass guitar with Tobias Kirsten, the current album "Hello Stars" was released in 2012. The band was additionally strengthened for live concerts by Michael Hoefels on the keyboard.

style

In a review of the 1997 album Laundry , a style correction from the "pure guitar pop" of the previous albums to the "integration of electronic sounds" was noted. It was said that it was "reinvented" and that "pure joy in experimenting" had created a "work that could be danceable throughout".
