Death Power was a French thrash metal band from Orange that was founded in 1986 and split up around 1990.
history
The band was formed in 1986 and consisted of guitarist Philippe Tourville, singer and bassist David Thimel and drummer Stéphane Guégan. In the following years the first two demos appeared, the band also held gigs all over France during this time. After a self-titled EP on Virulence Records , a sub-label of Jungle Rot Records , was released in 1989, the debut album The Bogeyman followed in the fall of 1990 on the same label , with Intercord taking over the distribution for it. The band's debut album should also be the last, as the group then disbanded.
style
The band played classic Thrash Metal, comparable to old works by Kreator or Sacrifice . Bands like The Sisters of Mercy , Ministry , Soundgarden and Dead Can Dance are named as influences.
