Wrapper (cigar)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As cover sheet refers to the outer leaf of a cigar , which is wrapped around the binder and determines the taste. The wrapper often consists of different types of tobacco than the filling tobacco and is the most important component of a cigar, as it contributes 30 - 60% of the aroma and is the first to catch the eye. With high-quality cigars, high demands are placed on the wrapper , since the color, the structure and the scent of the leaf give the first impression of the quality of a cigar. The epidermis must be even and uniformly colored. There must be no drying cracks or strong vascular bundles . If the wrapper is damaged by drying or mechanical effects, the burn of the cigar changes. Although the taste of the cigar does not suffer from a damaged wrapper, a lower price is achieved due to the appearance.
