Josef Hassmann

Josef Hassmann , also written Haßmann (* May 21, 1910 , † November 1, 1969 ), was an Austrian national football player in the position of a striker .

Career

Josef Hassmann began his career as a teenager with Admira in Jedlesee , but moved to FC Vienna in 1931 , then still called FC Nicholson, where he was regularly used in the Austrian championship. In the favorites , the striker could not play for the title, but recommended himself with Hugo Meisl through good performances for the national team. The striker was appointed to the squad for the 1934 World Cup in Italy, in which Austria reached the semi-finals. Josef Hassmann was never used. He made his team debut on November 11, 1934 in a 3-0 victory over Switzerland . The striker was only to play one more international match, against Czechoslovakia in 1935 . In 1937 Josef Hassmann finally left FC Wien and commuted between several clubs during the Second World War .
