Decrepit Soul is an Australian black and death metal band from Newborough that was formed in 2008.
history
The band was founded in 2008 as a solo project by Paul "Kako" Douglas. He then released the demo Goddess of Despair . Two more members were added in 2010, before the demo The Summoning and a split release with Scarifier appeared in 2012. The group also started playing live shows. In 2013, The Summoning was re-released as a compact cassette on Tridroid Records . In addition to the songs from the demo, the songs from the split release are also included, which were also remixed and mastered. In late 2013 and early 2014, the debut album was recorded, with the drummer leaving the group in 2014. The album was released in April 2015 under the name Uncreated and Eternal on Sinister Essence Records . In April, Marcus “Hellcunt” joined the group as drummer, before bassist Alex “Astro” Kaczkowski left the group in August. In November Douglas and "Hellcunt" recorded their second album, The Coming of War !! which was released by Iron Bonehead Productions in March 2016 . At the beginning of the year guitarist Unbeliever and bassist Innominandum joined as new members, before further concerts followed in March.

Simon Dümpelmann from Rock Hard wrote in his review of The Coming of War !! that it contains a brutal mixture of black and death metal, which sounds ugly and powerful and uses blastbeats and double bass . There are always epic moments in the songs. Stephan Möller from Metal.de also summarized the pieces on this album as a mix of Black and Death Metal. Similar music is played by Bestial Warlust , but the approach is "more rabid, unpolished and brutal". In addition, the group is "one of the more technically skilled colleagues in the field of tension between Black, Death and War Metal". The album is suitable for fans of Bestial Warlust, Black Witchery and Revenge .
