Bestial Warlust was an Australian black metal band from Melbourne . It was the starting point for numerous black metal bands from Australia.

Band history

1990-1997

In 1990 Damon Burr founded the death metal group Corpse Molestation . After changing their name to Bestial Warlust around 1993, the group signed a record deal with Modern Invasion . The debut Vengeance War 'till Death was made with the participation of Keith Warslut, who in addition to the band also had a side project called Deströyer 666 . After the debut he got out and focused on this band.

In 1995 the second album Blood & Valor was released , after which several members left the group. One last sign of life appeared in 1997 in the form of a song for the split -7 ″ single Headbangers Against Disco .

After Bestial Warlust

Chris Hastings left Australia and moved to Europe. He played there in the band Adorior and brought his own group Razor of Occam to Great Britain. Damon Burr has been involved with Abominator , Cemetery Urn, and Kutabare. Keith Warlust is still active at Deströyer 666. Markus Hellkunt has been a member of Gospel of the Horns since 1999 and was involved in Anatomy.

Music genre

Under the name Corpse Molestation, the band played "painful, cyclonic death metal". Eduardo Rivadavia of Allmusic claims that the band was inspired by Scandinavian bands like Darkthrone and Mayhem , but they existed as Corpse Molestation before the Norwegian scene and even after their renaming did not adopt their musical style. Instead, the group played fast-paced Black Metal with influences from Death Metal and Grindcore , as well as the German Thrash Metal scene around Sodom and Kreator . The music is in the style of blasphemy and sarcófago . Their appearance at live performances was also based on these groups. The group itself called their style Satanic War Metal .
