Adorior is a British extreme metal band from Sutton that was formed in 1994.

history

The band was founded in late 1994 by singer Melissa Hastings and bassist Chris "Nunravager" Hastings. To form the band, the members also moved from the north of Ireland to England. By early 1996, the line-up was completed with the addition of guitarist Tony Slut Sodomizer and drummer Paul Elvidge. Hastings was also active in Bestial Warlust and Razor of Occam , among others . Elvidge was replaced a short time later by Dani Ben-Haim. A first demo appeared in 1996 under the name Beyond the Distant Blue . Then the label Head Not Found became aware of the band, which in 1998 released the debut album Like Cutting the Sleeping . Performances followed, including in 2000 with Gospel of the Horns . For the year 2003, the release of a split release Hater of Fucking Humans was planned together with Witchmaster via Cirle of the Tyrants Records , which should originally appear in an edition of 666 pieces. However, the sound carrier was released in 2004 on the Polish label Agonia Records . The group's second album followed in September 2005 under the name Author of Incest . A record version that was limited to 500 copies was released in November. This was followed by further appearances in 2007, among others together with Axegressor and Urn . Before that, guitarist T. Kaos had left the band in the same year and was replaced by Destroyer 666's Ian "Shrapnel" Gray .

style

The band is often referred to as a black metal band, although they lack the necessary reference to Satanism . In an interview with Metalion in Metalion: The Slayer Mag Diaries , Chris Hastings stated that the band is influenced by voivod , drugs , alcohol and misanthropy for their songs . Hastings doesn't see Adorior as a black metal band. Paul Elvidge, however, writes a book about Satanism, Melissa Gray has her own satanic beliefs, about which she speaks only conditionally. Tony Slut Sodomizer is not interested in the subject, but sees alcohol as his god. Hastings called himself a satanic nihilist .
