Metalion , real name Jon Kristiansen (born May 20, 1967 ), is a Norwegian photographer and former author. He is particularly known for his former fanzine Slayer and his former record company Head Not Found .

biography

First, Metalion released Live Wire with a few other people and at this time came into contact with Hellhammer's demo recording, Satanic Rites , which he describes as a revelation. After a short time, his employees lost interest in Live Wire . He then began to publish his own fanzine, the first issue of which appeared in February 1985; the second edition followed in May 1985. Both were completely in Norwegian, the double edition 3/4 was partly and the following editions completely in English. The fifth issue of the magazine included one of the first reports about the band Mayhem , which he had met in 1985. During a trip to Germany with her guitarist Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth and her bassist Jørn "Necrobutcher" Stubberud in the summer of 1986 he made a demo recording under the name Checker Patrol together with members of the German thrash metal band Assassin , which he was a part of performed the song Metalion in the Park as a background singer. When Euronymous was murdered by Varg Vikernes in 1993 , it was a difficult time for Metalion as Euronymous was his best friend, but he was also friends with Vikernes. He stayed in contact with Vikernes for a while, but broke it off and no longer hears the music of Vikernes' band Burzum .

From 1992 onwards, Metalion released sound carriers through its own record company Head Not Found , the first being Alastis ' debut album The Just Law . Voices of Wonder was responsible for sales . Metalion was able to make a living from it for several years, but stopped working on Head Not Found, among other things, because of constant problems with Voices of Wonder; the record company continued without him.

In 2010 the last edition of the Slayer -Fanzine appeared, which was followed in 2011 by the book Metalion: The Slayer Mag Diaries with reprints from Live Wire and all Slayer editions. Metalion now works as a photographer.
