Dee D. Jackson (actually Deirdre Elaine Cozier ; born July 15, 1954 in Oxford ) is a British disco singer . In the 1970s she achieved an international hit with the title Automatic Lover .

Life

Jackson's career began in Munich , where she worked as a film producer and collaborated with Giorgio Moroder and Keith Forsey , among others . In 1978 she switched to music and released her debut single under the title Man of a Man , which, however, hardly found any buyers. But with the follow- up single Automatic Lover she landed a worldwide hit. The song reached number 4 in the British charts, reached number 1 in Brazil and the top 10 of the single charts in Germany and Switzerland.

This success was followed by her first album Cosmic Curves and another extraction from it, Meteor Man , with which she was able to partially confirm her success. Jackson's second album, which was musically based on the style of their debut, received less public attention.

In the early 1980s she moved to Los Angeles and brought a compilation of her greatest hits onto the market in 1981, but left the USA after a few months and settled in Italy. There she gave birth to a son in the late 1980s. In 1995, their last album so far was released under the title Blame It on the Rain .

Jackson now lives married in Turin , where she runs her own record company.

Dee D. Jackson is not to be confused with Dolores “DeeDee” Jackson († 1994), the former wife of Tito Jackson .
