Deg is the language of the African Deg and is used by about 35,000 (2014) speakers west of the Volta reservoir in the Central Region (Ghana) in Ghana .

Another 1,700 speakers live in Ivory Coast .

Alternative names are Degha, Mo, Mmfo, Aculo, Janela, and Buru. Well-known dialects are Longoro, Mangum and Boe. Deg has 78% similarities with Vagla .
