Dehio Association

The Dehio Association has overall scientific responsibility for the Handbook of German Art Monuments , which was founded by Georg Dehio .

It is made up of experts who are or were entrusted with the inventory at German and Austrian monument offices , as well as university lecturers and state curators. The members of the Dehio Association provide the respective editorial committees which oversee the volumes of the manual that are currently being edited. Currently (as of 2015) the association is headed by Gerd Weiß , the deputy chairman is Georg Skalecki .

The Association of Persons was set up in 1941 as an association for the publication of the Dehio manual in order to ensure the continuation of the project. Ernst Gall was in charge of editing the manual . When Gall could no longer ensure processing for health reasons, this association, called Dehio Association for short, renewed itself in July 1958 in Berlin to continue and publish the manual as a non-profit association . The association has been called the Dehio Association since 1976 . Scientific association for the continuation of the art topographical work of Georg Dehio .
