Matthias Müller (* 1971 in Zeven ) is a German jazz trombonist .

Live and act

Müller has been playing the trombone since he was eleven . From 1992 to 1994 he studied at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg , then until 1999 at the Folkwang University in Essen . Since 1996 he has participated in various dance, theater and new music projects a. a. at the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf , the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the Berliner Ensemble and worked with avant-garde theater and dance groups such as John's Music and Theater Cage , Theater der Klänge and Les petits Poissons .

He is a member of several musical groups, including The Astronomical Unit (with Clayton Thomas and Christian Marien ) and Foils with Frank Paul Schubert . With Peter Eisold and Simon Camatta he forms the Pansonics Trio ; he also appears in duo formations with Camatta and with Marien.

As a sideman he worked a. a. with Albert Mangelsdorff , Frank Gratkowski , Jack Wright , Michael Zerang , Johannes Bauer , Matthias Schubert , Olaf Rupp , Rudi Mahall , Nguyên Lê , Matthias Nadolny , Christian Brückner , Blixa Bargeld , Marcin Dymiter , Tina Frank , Kenny Wheeler and Norma Winstone .

Matthias Müller lives in Berlin .
