Andreas Wahl (guitarist)
Andreas Wahl (* 8. August 1965 in Stuttgart ) is a German jazz - guitarist .
Life
Wahl studied jazz guitar from 1992 to 1997 at the Arnhem University of the Arts . In 1996 he was one of the founders of the group The Last Chamber Ensemble , in the same year he founded the Trio Freie Wahl . In 1997 he founded the Andreas Wahl Experimental Band , with which he plays a synthesis of jazz, folk , new music and heavy metal . Besides elections, it includes Peter Bolte , Veit Lange , Hartmut Kracht and Christoph Hillmann .
Since 1999 he has also worked alongside Jan Klare and Peter Eisold as guitarist in the group Matthias Müller Bhavan . In the same year he became a lecturer for jazz guitar at the University of the Arts in Bremen . Since 2000 he has been working with the formation Peter Herborn Large (with Gary Thomas , Greg Osby , Nils Wogram , Robin Eubanks , Gene Jackson , Uri Caine and others), with whom he toured the USA in 2001, and as guitarist in the group Supernova , the 2003 presented new versions of Turkish music with Turkish musicians from the Ruhr area with the project Halbmond & Stern .
