Max Andrzejewski (* 1986 ) is a German jazz - drummer and composer .

Andrzejewski initially studied at the Cologne University of Music before moving to Berlin in 2009, where he completed his studies with John Hollenbeck at the Berlin Jazz Institute .

Andrzejewski founded his band Hütte in the summer of 2011 in order to let the distinct language of his fellow musicians Johannes Schleiermacher , Tobias Hoffmann and Andreas Lang unfold there. Andrzejewski is also active as a composer and performer in the theater and dance sector. B., for example, he works with the director Ersan Mondtag . He realized compositions for pieces such as Tyrannis (Staatstheater Kassel), Schnee (Thalia Theater Hamburg), Iphigenie (Schauspiel Frankfurt), Schere Faust Papier (Thalia Theater Hamburg).

Prizes and awards

Andrzejewski won the Convento Jazz Prize in 2010 with the band Ebene0 . His band Hütte received the New German Jazz Prize in 2013 ; he was also honored as the best soloist in the competition. The play "Tyrannis" (directed by Ersan Mondtag ) with Andrzejewski's formative compositions was invited to the 2016 Theatertreffen Berlin .
