Tobias Christl (born March 7, 1978 ) is a German singer (also piano, keyboards, clarinet and guitar), songwriter and composer.

Live and act

From 2001 to 2009 Christl studied singing and school music at the music academies in Würzburg, Nuremberg, Cologne and Weimar. In 2011 he received a DAAD scholarship and studied for a year in New York City. He established a number of projects in the field of jazz next to the out of work in Bujazzo resulting vocal ensemble sound district (where he until 2008 belonged to) his favorite band (with Pablo Held , Robert Landfermann , Tobias Hoffmann , Niels Klein and Jonas Burgwinkel ) and for the interpretation of Pop songs with a jazz attitude by the band Wildern around Matthias Akeo Nowak , Etienne Nillesen and Peter Ehwald . He sings his own German-language pop music with his band Herbe Sahne , which won the German Music Award 2012 with their video for “Flieger” ; He also plays with the pianist and composer Jürgen Friedrich in the duo formation Friedrich Christl . He also played with Mats-Up , the Bundesjazzwerkstatt , Maxime Bender , Frederik Köster , the UFO Big Band, Cosomo ( Mountains & Craters ) and with the theater ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Köln.

Christl was one of the founders of the Cologne jazz collective KLAENG , which has organized an annual festival since 2010. Until 2011 he taught at the Music School Henneberger Bonn and at the Open Jazz House School , and since 2013 jazz and pop singing at the Institute for Music and Media at the Robert Schumann University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf .
