Dominic Egli (born November 12, 1976 in Obfelden ) is a Swiss jazz drummer .

Live and act

Egli completed music courses from 1986; he sang in the youth choir and had drum lessons . From 1992 to 1994 he was taught drums ; he also attended workshops at the Zurich Jazz School. In 1994 he became a member of the youth orchestra of the Zurich Conservatory , with which he also toured the USA. After receiving support from bassist Peter Frei , he became a member of the Swiss Youth Jazz Orchestra in 1996/97 , which performed with the soloists Bob Berg , Randy Brecker , Bill Pierce and Mark Soskin . Between 1997 and 2001 he studied at the Swiss Jazz School with Billy Brooks . He also had lessons with Billy Hart during a three-month stay in New York .

In 2001 Egli formed her own trio Plurism . He also belonged to the groups of Jean-Paul Brodbeck , Domenic Landolf , Araxi Karnusian , Daniel Schläppi, Luca Stoll and Tobias Preisig as well as the bands Dirty Chicken , Odem , Mats Up , Standard Movement and ZAR . He also played concerts with Tony Lakatos , George Robert , Roman Schwaller , Dado Moroni , Marcus Wyatt , Paul Hanmer , Franco Ambrosetti and Don Friedman .

Prizes and awards

In 1998 Egli won the advancement award at the international jazz meeting Generations in Frauenfeld . In 2000 he was awarded first prize with the Robi Lakatos Trio in the Contemporary Patterns competition .
