Dehuman Reign is a Berlin death metal band that was founded in 2011.

history

The band was formed in May 2011. After several changes, a permanent cast was found in March 2012. A first EP called Destructive Intent was recorded in the summer , before the first appearances followed in December. The sound carrier was released by FDA Rekotz in July 2013 and as a limited record version in November. The debut album followed in May 2016 on the same label under the name Ascending from Below . Drums and vocal recordings as well as the re-amping were done again in Engl Sound Studio with producer Tobias Engel , while the stringed instruments were recorded independently. The recordings were then mixed and mastered by Jörg Uken in the Soundlogde studio .

style

Sebastian Schillin from Rock Hard wrote that the band is more mature on the album than on the EP. In addition, the group sounded heavily influenced by US death metal. In an interview with Schilling, Binder stated that the band does not have a special text concept. The lyrics would come from the singer Alex, with whom he tries to convey morbidity and darkness and to avoid death metal clichés. The group was mainly influenced by the thrash and death metal of the 1990s. Patrick Schmidt had reviewed the debut album an issue earlier. Then North American -influenced Death Metal in the style of Monstrosity , Deicide and Suffocation is played. The music is technically demanding, "without falling into total fiddling", while melodic solos and breaks are used. The sound is reminiscent of Scott Burns productions in the 1990s.
