Monstrosity ( Engl. : Monstrosity ) is an American death metal band from Fort Lauderdale in Florida . She plays typical Florida death metal .

history

The band was founded in 1991. In the same year the first and only demo Horror Infinity was released . After an EP, which was released on Relapse Records , the debut album appeared, which was very successful with over 50,000 copies sold; however, the band has not got beyond its underground status to this day. Line-up problems repeatedly caused delays in publications. So the singer at the time George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher switched to Cannibal Corpse in 1996 . In 1998, the band played at the Rock Al Parque festival in Bogota , Colombia as a headliner in front of over 80,000 spectators. Monstrosity has been signed to Metal Blade Records since the album Rise to Power . In 2007, the band headlined the Fuck-the-Commerce Festival alongside Vital Remains .

The drummer Lee Harrison founded his own music label called " Conquest Music ", he is the only remaining founding member and has a major impact on the band's sound with his unique drumming.
