Deinomenids
The Deinomenids were a family of rulers or tyrants in Greek Sicily in the 6th and 5th centuries BC. Chr.
They included:
- Deinomenes , tyrant of Gela and his four sons:
- Gelon (540 BC – 478 BC), tyrant of Gela and Syracuse
- Hieron I (also Hiero I ; † 466 BC), tyrant of Gela and Syracuse
- Polyzalus , tyrant of Gela (from him there is a votive gift with charioteer in Delphi )
- Thrasybulus , tyrant of Syracuse
