The Dekra Akademie GmbH (proper spelling: DEKRA Akademie GmbH) is a private education company with 150 locations in Germany. The company's headquarters are in Stuttgart . In addition to offering training and advice for private and business customers, the Dekra Academy operates several technical schools and a state-recognized university.

history

Dekra Akademie GmbH is a division of the Dekra Group and was founded in Kassel in 1974. Even before the official founding of an academy, Dekra qualified drivers from 1973 in the then new profession of professional driver.

In 1977 the first training center was built in Wart in the northern Black Forest. Before that, the training took place at test sites or in rented rooms. The number of German locations is currently 150 (as of 2017). The beginnings and the affiliation to the Dekra Group have shaped the direction of the Dekra Academy: A content-related focus is still on the areas of transport, warehouse and dangerous goods logistics. In addition, the range of training courses has been gradually expanded (see focal points), for example to include qualifications for the healthcare or IT sector. In 1997, Dekra Akademie was the first educational service provider to sign the SAP educational partner agreement.

The main focus of the Dekra Academy's training and further education offerings are in the following areas

The training courses are offered as face-to-face training at the locations. It is also possible to complete it via the Internet as web-based training , as computer-based training or in the form of blended learning .

The Academy has been training nursing staff abroad since 2012 and preparing them professionally and linguistically for their assignment in German clinics and care facilities. For this purpose, the company has its own schools, locations and cooperations in Hungary, Serbia and Albania (as of January 2017).

The training and further education prepare participants for various degrees and certificates: from internal Dekra to manufacturer certificates, e.g. B. in the area of ​​SAP, up to master craftsman and business administration degrees (IHK).

Labor market / educational research

Dekra Akademie has been involved in educational research as a coordinator and project partner for a decade. The research projects focus on European education policy as well as topics relating to transport and logistics, IT and healthcare.

The Dekra Academy has been systematically investigating the labor and job market in Germany since 1996. In its current form, the Dekra Labor Market Report has been looking at which occupations and qualifications are currently most in demand since 2008. For this purpose, the job advertisements in daily newspapers and online job portals are analyzed at the end of February. In addition, the report goes into more detail on two professional groups; In 2016, for example, the focus was on professional drivers and care workers.
