Bernd Rohr (born November 13, 1937 in Mannheim ) is a former German cyclist and world champion in cycling .
Athletic career
In 1957 Bernd Rohr was the first German amateur champion in the team pursuit . He was able to repeat this success twice until 1961. In 1962 he became world champion in this discipline in Milan together with Lothar Claesges , Ehrenfried Rudolph and Klaus May . In addition, from 1961 he became German champion in the team time trial three times in a row . He won all of his team championship titles with his club RRC Endspurt 1924 Mannheim , for which Rudi Altig and his brother Willi Altig had also started in earlier years .
In 1966 Rohr became a professional and as such was German runner-up in the sprint in 1966 and 1967 . In 1966 he was 25th in the Amstel Gold Race . He also started in 14 six-day races . In 1965 he finished sixth with Dieter Kemper in the Berlin six-day race.
Honors
On February 29, 1964, he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf for his athletic achievements . He is an honorary member of his club RRC Endspurt Mannheim .
