Dell Diamond is the home of the Round Rock Express , the Triple-A Minor League . The team is affiliated with the Houston Astros , a major league baseball team .

Dell Diamond is located on 344,000 square feet of former farmland on the east side of Round Rock , Texas , a rapidly growing suburb just northeast of Austin . Nolan Ryan and his son Reid Ryan, co-owners of the Express, originally wanted to build a stadium within the city of Austin, but found a more attractive location in the city of Round Rock. The City of Round Rock contributed $ 7.35 million to the $ 25 million cost of the facility. The city owns the baseball field and gave the Express a 38-year lease. Dell Computer Corporation (now Dell, Inc. ) has entered into a naming agreement. This contract costs the company $ 2.5 million over a 15-year period.
