The dolphin fountain (also Bacchant on dolphin called) is a small fountain in the Munich district Maxvorstadt . It was in 1902 on a place in the Dachauerstraße corner Auguststraße built. The fountain was created by the Thuringian sculptor Arthur Storch .
The fountain consists of an oval basin. Inside is a bronze sculpture on a stone block showing a bacchante riding a water-spouting dolphin .
