As a demarcation ( French démarcation to Old High German  marcha  , Mark ') or delimitation is the establishment of an intergovernmental dividing line (in international politics demarcation line ) to territorial understood changes or territorial disputes such. B. the armistice line after armistice or ceasefire . As a rule, demarcation takes place through agreements under international law .
