Dembo M. Badjie (* 1952 ) is a Gambian civil servant and diplomat .

Life

Dembo M. Badjie was educated in the United States and the United Kingdom. Since 1978 he has been employed in various positions in the Gambian administration. He served as Divisional Commissioner in the North Bank Division , Lower River Division, and the Western Division .

Badjie was High Commissioner in Sierra Leone from 2004 to 2010, and in July 2010 he was appointed High Commissioner in India . Badjie's accreditation was changed from India to the People's Republic of China in June 2016 . In December 2016, several Gambian diplomats spoke out in favor of the newly elected President Adama Barrow , including Badjie, and President Yahya Jammeh then dismissed all diplomats.
