The Demirköprü Dam ( Turkish Demirköprü Barajı ) is located on the Gediz River about 120 km east of the city of İzmir in the western Turkish province of Manisa .
The dam was built in the years 1954–1960 for energy generation , irrigation and drainage regulation . The rock embankment dam is 74 m high and has a volume of 4.3 million m³. The associated reservoir has a water surface of 45.7 km² and a storage volume of 1022.3 million m³. The dam is used to irrigate an area of 99,220 hectares. The Demirköprü dam has three units of 23 megawatts each . The standard work capacity is 193 GWh per year.
