The Dempster Street Station , (also known as Skokie Swift Station and North Shore Train Station is) a historic railway station in Skokie in Cook County in the US state of Illinois . The building was built in 1925 and is located on Dempster Street.
The historic train station has been renovated over the years and reused several times. It is now completely out of order, only a Starbucks coffee shop is located here. A new and more modern train station is on the opposite side of the street and is operated by the CTA Yellow Line .
The station was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 28, 1996 as a monument under the number 95001005 .
