Den is the title character of a comic series drawn and written by Richard Corben . The young D avid E LLIS N orman, who falls into a different world where he is a muscular hero who first appeared in 1968 in an animated short film on. The first comic was published five years later.

action

David Ellis Norman wakes up in a desert-like world and can only remember his initials "DEN". During his stay in this world called nowhere, he meets a few people: Katherine "Kath" Wells, like Den, was brought to "Nowhere", where she had a different body. The red queen wants to use the Loc-Nars, a scepter of great power, to summon the great Uluhtc ( Cthulhu read backwards) to rule the entire universe. She and Den had a relationship after he saved her.

The character of Den first appeared in the animated short film Neverwhere from 1968. Den's first comic book was published in 1973 in underground magazine Grim Wit . The magazine Métal Hurlant published Den from 1975. Three years later, Volksverlag published the first German-language adventures with two albums in the series. In 1987, Raymond Martin Verlag also released two albums. In the series Die phantastische Welt des Richard Corben published by Carlsen Verlag , a total of four Den albums were published in 1991 and 1992 .

Andreas C. Knigge sees Den as “a masterpiece of fantasy art”. For Harald Havas, Den Corbens is “the most famous work”. For Corben, the work on Den meant a change, as he had previously drawn mainly in black and white .
