Dendrometry
The dendrometry (. V . Greek δένδρον, dendron = "tree" μέτρον metron " measure , - razor ") is the measurement of trees . It is used in forestry , horticulture and landscaping as well as in botanical research and, depending on the area of application, has the aim of documenting the status and changes in the growth of individual trees and tree populations.
Some measurements that dendrometry includes are
- Thickness, height, volume and mass of a tree
- Age of a tree
- average growth performance of a forest and deviation of individual trees
