This page lists the monument areas in Aachen .

Legal basis

Monument areas are defined in the Monument Protection Act of North Rhine-Westphalia as a majority of structures in which not every associated individual structure meets the requirements of monument protection. They are listed as an ensemble, but not every single building in them, unless it is specifically listed as a monument. Monument areas are established by the statutes of the respective municipality.

The city of Aachen does not list its monument areas in its generally accessible list of architectural and ground monuments, but links to the individual statutes for the protection of monument areas on the same page as the list of monuments.
