St. Donatus Church

The Donatusstrasse monument zone in Matzen , a district of Bitburg in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate , includes the buildings Donatusstrasse 6, 11, 13, 14 and 16.

The buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, which are designated as a monument zone , with the farmhouses 11, 14 and 16 aligned parallel to the sloping street, together with the small building leaning against no.11 and the protruding residential house standing across the street from No. 6, an almost undisturbed assembly .

By far the best preserved part of the upper village of Matzen culminates in the elevated Catholic branch church St. Donatus in the churchyard.
