Monument zone Kirchweg (Bickendorf)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kirchweg monument zone in Bickendorf , a local community in the Eifel district of Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate , includes the buildings Kirchweg 1 (also protected as an individual monument), 2 and 4.

The development designated as a monument zone consists of the residential buildings and a farm building. Behind the buildings there is a cemetery wall with gravestones from the 18th and 19th centuries.

House No. 1, a Streckhof , is said to have been built in 1771. The windows from the time of construction are only partially preserved. On the side facing away from the street is a basement accessible at ground level. The barn door is marked on its wedge with the year 1808.

House no. 2 bears the year 1847 on a lintel. House no. 4 is probably about a generation younger. A commercial building built in 1900 forms the end of the development.
