Coordinates: 34 ° 57 ′ S , 117 ° 21 ′ E The Shire of Denmark is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 1860 km² and has about 5800 inhabitants (2016).
Denmark is located on the Australian southwest coast about 160 kilometers southeast of the capital Perth . The Shire Council is based in Denmark , where around 2500 people live (2016).

The Denmark Council has nine members elected by the residents of the three wards (four each from the Town, Scotsdale / Shadforth and Kent / Nornalup Ward). The Council Chairman and President des Shires are also recruited from among the Councilor.
