Dennis Hill State Park (also: Lichfield Hills State Park) is a state park in the US state of Connecticut in the area of the municipality of Norfolk . It offers opportunities for hiking, picnicking and great views over three states. The area belonged to Dr. Frederick Shepard Dennis, who donated it to the state in 1935. The rocky subsoil consists mainly of gneiss . The last ice age left many traces in the hard rock. The highest point rises to 494 m above sea level . The closest major river is the Mad River to the north and west. Hillside Gardens joins to the north .
