Deocriste is a place and a former municipality ( Freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Viana do Castelo in the Minho-Lima sub-region . The community had 781 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Deocriste, Portela Susã and Subportela were merged to form the new municipality União das Freguesias de Subportela, Deocriste e Portela Susã .
