The Güer Aike department is located in the southeast of the Santa Cruz province in southern Argentina and is one of the seven administrative units in the province.
It is bordered to the north by the departments of Lago Argentino and Corpen Aike , to the east by the Atlantic Ocean and to the south and west by Chile .
