The Department of Public Enterprises ( DPE ; German: Ministry for State Enterprises ) is a South African ministry . It is for the political leadership of several state-owned enterprises - (SOC State Owned Company in charge).

The Department of Public Enterprises was founded in 1994. In 1999, following a cabinet decision, it was restructured and recognized as a national ministry.
